The Newton-Conover Band continues to produce bands that the school and community can be proud. The band has received many awards for their performances in Marching and Concert Band. Already this year, the marching band has received a Superior Rating, First Place Band in Class AAA, First Place Hornline, First Place Drum Major, First Place Guard, and First Place Drum. This past spring, the Band received a Excellent Rating in Grade V wind literature. Band music is graded on a level of one to six, six being the most difficult. In addition, the students were given 6 minutes to look and study a piece of music. At the end of 6 minutes, they played the piece for adjudication. The band also received a Superior rating in sightreading.  |
