Mission
Statement: It is the goal of the Newton-Conover High School
Band to
offer the students and communities of Newton and Conover the finest
band program possible. Through this tradition of excellence in
music, the band staff at Newton-Conover has sought to teach students
the hard work and determination necessary to succeed in life,
business, and music.
Newton-Conovor
Band Booster Club Inc.: The
band program at Newton-Conover High School relies heavily on the
support of the band booster club. It is through their dedication
and hard work that the Band at Newton-Conover has excelled through
the years to become one of the best in the state.
Tradition
of Excellence:
The band at NCHS have done something not many band programs can
boast. They have maintained a tradition of excellence for over
thirty years. Since 1968 Under the Direction of Jim Stockner,
the band at Newton-Conover has received consistent “Superior”
ratings in concert and marching contests. Past performances of
the band have included: North American Music Festival in New York
City, The Cotton Bowl Parade in Dallas, Texas; Two performances
in the Citrus Bowl Parade in Orlando, Florida; The Youth in Music
Festival in Vienna, Austria; and two performances in the Festivals
of Music, Toronto, Canada.
